Thermal insulation (saving energy)

Thermal insulation of windows is very important because a large part of energy in a room is lost through windows. The basic parametres that influence a good window insulation are profiles (frame and casement) and glass.
The thermal insulation of a window is expressed by “Uw” value. The smaller the value, the lesser is the energy loss through windows, that is, the thermal insulation is better.
Installing low-energy windows a substantial saving is guaranteed.

Sound insulation

The sound insulation is measured in decibels (dB). The higher the value, the better the sound insulation.
As for sound insulation of a room, glass thickness has the most important role. An insulation glass 4/16/4 which is a standard installation of carpentry has the sound insulation 33dB. It means that it reduces the outer noise of e.g. 70 dB to 33 dB which, basically, means that through a closed window with such glass no car noise from a busy street will enter the room. In case of a necessity of additional sound insulation we can provide such glasses as well.

Security

A.B.S. Windows are equipped by multi-point locks and security window cranks. For total security we can offer the anti-burglary fitting up to WK2 level, profiles with middle gasket and security tempered or laminated glass.
Although there is no 100% security, the burglars will, facing a well secured object, rather choose a less secured one.

Performance

The technology of profile production, processing and coupling, their final processing and functionality are just some of the things which should be considered when buying new windows. A modern window, except for good insulation has to meet other standards such as: flexibility in colour and shape choice, simple maintenance, anti-burglary protection and airing.

Installation

The installation of window is as important as its production and is a basic condition for its flawless functionality and longevity. By improper and unprofessional  installation the parametres that influence its functionality and insulating properties may be disrupted. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for the installation to be done by a trained expert.

When buying new windows make sure to check if the vendor of the carpentry you buy has all the necessary certificates and whether there's a guarantee included.

Handling

Your windows are equipped with high-quality fittings of renowned world brand. The windows, balcony doors and sliding walls are equipped with MACO fittings which regularly contain the devices for tilt and turn opening of the casement. Make sure the crank is always in one of the three positions:

1. vertically turned upwards (tilt opening)
2. horizontal (turn opening)
3. vertically turned downwards (closed)

The window has a security mechanism installed to prevent wrong handling. The crank is blocked as long as the casement is in open position. Turning the crank, i.e. choosing to open is possible only when the casement is attached to the window frame.
Our fittings is additionally equipped with the “window operator” which prevents wrong handling.

Cleaning the profiles

Normally dirty window frames are easily cleaned by tepid water with addition of a cleaning abrasive-free fluid. Very dirty frames can easily be cleaned by a special cleaning fluid which can be purchased in our stores.
Do not use by any chance the cleaning agents which contain strong acids or nitro-dilutant.

Clean the dust regularly and remove other types of dirt from the frames, fittings and gaskets along the verge of the frames.
Should a gasket be displaced from its normal position, you can press it back using your thumb starting from the well fitting part. Avoid sharp objects in order to avoid damaging the gasket.
Check periodically the drainage outlets and clean them if necessary. 

Fittings maintenance

All the removable parts of fittings should be lubricated with machine oil, WD 40 or similar lubricant once a year. The screws and bolts holding the fittings and cranks should also be checked regularly.
The fittings can be subsequently adjusted. However, leave it to an expert i.e. to our authorised repairman.

Glass cleaning

Glass is best cleaned by clean warm water and a good wash-leather or alcohol.
In case of need water can be mixed with a little bit of dishwashing liquid. Avoid aggressive agents or the ones containing dilutants.

Airing

Since modern windows seal very well, the airing of a room is reduced to minimum which can be a cause of mold in your house as well as of water condensation on glass surfaces. The regular ventilation of the rooms is vital to solve this problem because a greater amount of fresh, nonsaturated air runs through the house an can absorb more humidity preventing thus the mold appearance.

The humidity of your house should be from 30% to 50%.

Air the rooms briefly but effectively-the best way is by causing draught opening all the windows at the same time (so-called strong airing). Depending on the exterior temperature 5 minutes should be enough. Airing too long unnecessarily cools the walls and is not economical.
Air the rooms 3-4 times a day according to air usage within them.

You can easily determine the length of airing during a cold season by yourself:
As soon as you open the window the outer part of the glass will become foggy. When this condensed humidity disappears and the glass surface becomes dry, close the window. In the meantime the fresh air has replaced the stale one and the furniture and walls haven't been cooled.

In order to control the humidity level in your rooms easily we offer you automatic room ventilation by means of the Gecco system or a sensor which will warn you in time about a too high humidity level of the room and signal that the airing should be done.

CARPENTRY CLEANING SET

IQ-cleaning set was developed for a total care of your window. Many regular cleaning substances don't provide a desired cleaning efficiency or a necessary care for your window. With the cleaning and care agent  art. 3525 99 you will be able to clean small dirt from an artificial material made window  and will, at the same time, apply the protective layer.

We advise you to use a wet cloth after this cleaning process. We advise you to treat your windows by the cleaning and care agent twice a year.
For resistant dirt we offer you a strong, special, intensive cleaning agent  art. 3527 99.

In cases of abrasive gaskets, intensive pollution and sticky pollen the special intensive agent cleans window profiles and at the same time provides a special care of the surface. After cleaning with the special intensive cleaning agent we recommend you to polish with a clean, dry cloth.

GECCO – AUTOMATIC AIRING

In order to maintain a balance between humidity and temperature in your rooms we offer an intelligent self-regulating air ventilation system GECCO (clima control). Installing GECCO on your window you get an automatic air ventilation through a closed window without draught or sudden temperature drop.
A small vent with great effect makes your classical window a “ventilation window” by which a regular airing of a room and mold prevention on the walls  is achieved.

AIR HUMIDITY GAUGE – AIRING SENSOR

The air humidity gauge which is installed very simply to your window will warn you in time to a too high level of air humidity in a room and signal that the airing should be done.
